Job Description:
INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN RESPONSIBILITIES:
If content changes are made in the midst of delivering the training, be able to adapt, make updates to the training, and close any knowledge gaps.
Create job aids or handouts during training, as needed.
Attend meetings with training team to present areas for improving training and activities identified during training and provide suggestions and solutions accordingly.
Use business goal to design learning goals with reinforcing activities.
Understand adult learning theory and use in creation and delivery of learning solutions.
Be proficient in the creation and maintenance of content in the LMS.
Storyboard, develop and/or improve audiovisual/multimedia materials and SCORM compliant elearning for the LMS.
Co-create knowledge checks, assessments based on Kirkpatrick’s levels of evaluation.
Evaluate existing content and recommend creative and innovative solutions for a blended learning approach.
Identify and implement a well-rounded elearning solution for global Dow Jones.
TRAINER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaches all level courses for corporate and client personnel.
Creates approved course materials for end user training for Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Suite of products, Linux, Amazon Web Services, JIRA, Google Suite of Apps
Assist in needs assessment evaluations with internal & external clients.
Work with management, supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, and technologies.
Improve existing programs and processes by reviewing specifications, evaluating proposed changes, recommending changes and making modifications.
Develop procedural documentation such as training aids, handbooks, multimedia visual aids, elearning and instructional manuals.
Train system users in person, over the phone, or via webinars.
Establish a good working relationship with all departments, customers, and professionals.
Other duties as assigned.
Use web-conference tools.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team.
Comfortable communication with all levels of management and employees.
Strong Analytical and Problem solving skills.
Excellent written, verbal presentation and organizational communication skills.
Technical Knowledge: Microsoft Office Suite (including Access), Company-specific applications.
Technical Writing Abilities
Captivate Authoring Software experience preferred, but not required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Design and develop new training materials, or update existing materials, based on sound instructional systems design.
Have thorough knowledge of instructional design (ID) methodologies and follow the ID development and review cycle.
Understand modalities of learning and select and create appropriate learning solutions based on content, desired learning outcomes, and your audience.
Possess knowledge of or skills needed to setup the classroom environment for training purposes.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: College degree preferred. Minimum 3-5 years related experience.
